Cyril PierreDancerAn experienced and versatile conductor, Christopher Moulds is in demand at opera houses throughout Europe. He has appeared on the podium at the Bayerische Staatsoper, the Bolshoi Theatre, English National Opera, Essen’s Aalto Theater, Netherlands Opera, Oper Köln, Opéra National de Lyon, Opera North and Theater an der Wien amongst others, with repertoire such as Aida, Carmen, Dido and Aeneas, Giulio Cesare, Madama Butterfly, Radamisto and Solomon. In 2011 he gave the Russian premiere of Handel’s Orlando with the Musica Viva Chamber Orchestra, Moscow and returned in 2012 for Ariodante. He enjoys strong links with both the Staatsoper Berlin and the Bayerische Staatsoper, Munich, conducting repertoire ranging from Monteverdi, Handel and Mozart through to contemporary works such as Birtwistle's Punch and Judy. Festival appearances include Bregenz Festival, Händel Festival Halle, Sydney Festival and performances of La clemenza di Tito with the Vienna Philharmonic at the Salzburg Festival.
Recent performances include Monteverdi's L'Orfeo, in a co-production between the Royal Opera House and the Roundhouse, Semele with the Canadian Opera Company at the Brooklyn Academy of Music in New York, and Il re pastore with Zurich Opera, where he recently conducted a new production of Telemann's Der geduldige Socrates. This season he makes his debut at the Semperoper Dresden and the Teatro Real, Madrid with productions of Alcina and returns to the Bolshoi Theatre for performances of Handel’s Rodelinda as well as the Staatsoper Berlin with Britten’s Turn of the Screw and the Bayerische Staatsoper with Die Entführung aus dem Serail.
On the concert platform Moulds has conducted orchestras including Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin, Concerto Köln, the London Philharmonic Orchestra, the Mozarteumorchester Salzburg, the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra and the Vienna Symphony Orchestra. Recent highlights include a performance at the Internationale Barocktage Stift Melk of Handel’s Israel in Egypt with Concentus Musicus Wien. © musicaviva.ru | |
