By the end of October Yuri Grigorovich will have revived one of his best ballets, "The Legend of Love", which premiered in Leningrad in 1961 and was staged at the Bolshoi in 1965. The ballet has never disappeared from the Mariinsky and the Bolshoi stage for long. Radu Poklitaru from "The Kyiv Modern-Ballet" and the British director Declan Donnellan, who worked on the ballet "Romeo and Juliette" in 2003 together, are now working on the world premiere of the ballet "Hamlet"; the choreographer Yuri Posokhov and Kirill Serebrennikov will stage "A Hero of Our Time". There have been examples of choreographers and drama directors staging productions together, but it is hard to say that such cooperation has been successful. Apart from rare exceptions (for example, "Romeo and Juliette", staged by L. Lavrovsky and S. Radlov), such "unions" most often result in the disintegration of the choreography and the drama component in the production. The ballet "Tatiana", based on Pushkin's "Eugene Onegin" and staged by John Neumeier, could become another big event of the ballet season. The premiere of "T atiana" will take place at the Stanislavski and Nemirovich-Danchenko Moscow Academic Music Theatre in the beginning of November. However, this is not the only surprise that the Stanislavski Theatre has prepared for its audience. On September 6 the company of the Dragon Contemporary Dance Theatre of Beijing, founded by the famous Jackie Chan, will perform there. The audience will be presented with a thrilling performance "Gates of Shaolin", where the sophisticated choreography is combined with martial arts. In September and October the Stanislavski Theatre's audience will be able to see performances of the American ballet as a part of the Dance Inversion Festival. The choreographer Aszure Barton will present her production "Awaa", which explores some of the most primal aspects of being human. The choreographer Shen Wei will present "Rite of Spring" and "Folding". The Festival "Days of High Class Music" opened in the Nenets Okrug. Pieces by Mozart, Rossini, Schubert and Verdi were performed at the cultural and business center. Almost 700 people come to listen to the concert. The Festival's artistic director opened the Festival himself. Dmitry Kogan is not only a famous violinist; the musician also pays close attention to the development of the classical music in the modern world. The project "Days of High Class Music" was first launched several years ago. The Festival has already been organized in Vladivostok, Chelyabinsk, Samara, Khabarovsk and even on the Sakhalin island. Dmitry Kogan has chosen the Festival's repertoire himself. To show classical music in all its diversity was one of the conditions. This is why the program starred opera singers. The audience heard Ekaterina Smolina (soprano). Her repertoire is vast: from the early baroque music to pieces by the modern composers. The repertoire of Festival guest, Maxim Paster (tenor), is vast as well. The Bolshoi Theatre's soloist always says that classics are the popular art that everyone can understand and relate to. /…/
