The Bolshoi ballet company leading soloist Andrei Merkuriev and first violins' concert master Mikhail Tsinman were awarded the title "Honored Artist of the Russian Federation" by the President of the Russian Federation Decree No 176.

Mikhail Tsinman (violin)
Studied at The Gnessin School of Music (class of Elena Bondarenko and Oleg Krysa), the Moscow State Conservatory (class of professor Boris Belenky) and the post-graduate school (class of Sergei Gershenko).
In 1990 he became a laureate of the competition Premio Rodolfo lipizer (Gorizia), and in 1991 - a laureate of the International Mozart Competition in Salzburg.
He then started his career as a soloist and have been performing both in Russia and abroad. Mikhail Tsinman worked with such conductors, as A. Lazarev, Hans Graf, Klaus Arp, Fuat Manssurov, D Liss and many others.

Together with the pianist Victor Yampolsky he recorded all pieces by Nikolai Medtner for violin, including the famous quintet, which was recorded for the Japanese company "Triton".

Mikhail has always been fond of chamber improvization; when he was still studying at the School of Music, he became a laureate of the quartet competition Concertino Praga. S. Madatov, R. Dubinsky and V. Berlinsky were his teachers.

Not only does Mikhail perform, but he also teaches at the Moscow Conservatory, gives master-classes abroad and works in the Bolshoi Theatre Orchestra as a concert master.
