Igor Stravinsky's legacy can be used to study the evolution of 20th century music in general, and the history of ballet in particular. After all, 15 scores created in close collaboration with the greatest choreographers of the era make him a truly ballet author.
More than one impressive monograph has been written about the revolution these works brought about in the world of theatrical art. This rebellious spirit, enveloping the personality of the great master and his brainchild, was picked up by young creators who took on a new production at the Rostov theater. This affected both the choice of titles, rarely appearing on domestic playbills, and their daring, original implementations in dance and scenography. The result is a very unusual experiment for the troupe. Three infinitely different performances, performed in one evening, and embodying the creative style of very different, but equally talented directors.
Danses concertantes
«Danses concertantes" for me is about competition. Concerto - from the Latin "competition". Competition - soloists among themselves, soloists with five couples, dancers with a complex rhythm, and finally - a competition between me and myself. I wanted to create a performance in which there would be only music, energy and choreography - and nothing more. But in the process of production rehearsals, "Dances" were transformed, and some more personal, psychological moments, relationships between the participants of this action began to seep through ... Jeu de cartes
First deal.
The cards are shuffled, and Nijinsky gets to meet his future wife - Romola. There are conflicting opinions about the role of this woman in the life of the great dancer. According to the first, she became the keeper of the entire legacy of the star of the Russian Seasons and Stravinsky's ballets, and continued to support his reputation even after leaving the stage. According to the other, she married Nijinsky only wanting to bask in the rays of glory of the brilliant artist, often leaving during his illness and leading an active social life; marriage with her caused the collapse of his whole life.
Not everything was clear-cut in the dancer's relationship with Sergei Diaghilev. Yes, cooperation with him brought Nijinsky worldwide fame and immortality for centuries, but the entrepreneur took a considerable price for it...
Second deal.
The cards are shuffled. The world of fashion could have been completely different... But one day, a modest pupil of a monastery orphanage, Gabrielle Chanel, whom everyone called Coco, happened to meet Arthur Capel, known as Boy, on her way. The attractive young businessman instilled self-confidence in Coco and supported all her dreams. And Coco, who despised love, gave him her heart...
Of course, later she will have relationships with other men. One day, the great Stravinsky will burst into her life. According to rumors, the affair with the maestro inspired Coco to create the unique fragrance Chanel No. 5... But all of these were just fleeting passions that passed without touching the feelings of the proud trendsetter.
Third deal.
The cards are shuffled for the last time. Stravinsky's move to the United States coincides with the heyday of the jazz era and the rise of the star of the unrivaledFrank Sinatra.
This ascent was not easy and cloudless, as was his further stay at the pinnacle of fame. Sinatra's parents did not support his desire to become a professional singer, but everything changed when he met a band of like-minded musicians. Numerous romances and marriages brought a lot of confusion into the life of the jazz legend. And his connection with the mafia almost ruined his life, confusing all his cards and mixing them into the general deck...

The play "Pulcinella" is a gripping ballet in the style of commedia dell'arte. The action takes place in the universe of a detective comic book, where a rapid whirlwind of events unfolds.
Pulcinella is a thief with superpowers. He decides to rob the leader of the gangster world at a party taking place in the hotel lobby. However, his plans collapse when another wonderful robber appears on the stage, who turns out to be beyond his powers.
But failure opens up new opportunities for the hero. A chase, a wedding, a series of funny situations flash by in a series of colorful pictures - and of course, commedia dell'arte cannot do without the classic lazzi with pudding and a fly!.. In the end, the hero will be able to reconcile with his superpower-uncontrollable robber and snatch his own.
